This red wine has an elegant garnet red color, delicate nose of berries, with hints of grilled almond and vanilla aromas.

TERROIR: the vines of Château Agnel, facing due south on limestone-clay terraces with worn pebbles, enjoy a sunny climate conducive to balanced grape ripening.

 

GRAPE VARIETIES: 80% Syrah, 20% old Grenache noir.

 

VINE-GROWING: green pruning to control yields and ensure maximum grape ripeness.

 

WINEMAKING: alcoholic fermentation in stainless steel vats with temperature control. Four weeks of maceration with two rack and returns at the beginning of fermentation followed by daily pumping over. Malolactic fermentation. Selection of the most intense vat offering the best suitability for aging.

 

MATURING: 30% of the wine aged in French oak barrels with one previous use.

 

TASTING NOTES: on the nose, this wine reveals violet, liquorice and spice aromas. Full-bodied and powerful on the palate, it unveils dark chocolate and eucalyptus notes over a Burlat cherry base. A remarkably long and fresh finish.

 

FOOD AND WINE PAIRINGS: perfect with game, grilled rib of beef or characterful cheeses.

 

SERVING TEMPERATURE: serve at room temperature, 18°C.
